Most of my friends who are in their mid 30s to 50s are expresing some form of loneliness. I would like to help them, but observing myself I discover that I have the same feeling inspite of having a cute kid who always runs around me seking attention. Any ideas to make women feel alive?

Best Answer:

I'm not a woman, but I am a man who has been happily married to a wonderful, supportive wife for 11 years now. In spite of this, I do have feelings of lonliness. Part of this, I feel, is due to the fact that I have always had a male best friend but am lacking one now. Also, I have recently had some friends stop calling me, and that leads to insecurities and lonliness. The best way for me to deal with those feelings is to do volunteer work. I also look to see if I can help out older friends and family who might need help around the house or yard. Diverting my energy toward helping others rather than self-pity is the best cure for the blues for me. It might work for you too.

greeting every day like it's something special....feeling alive...I think for me it's keeping in touch with myself, through meditation/prayer and having an interest that I can talk about with my significant other. I do work but I also have a lot of interests........I don't necessarily have the opportunity to follow up on all my interests but I am connected to the world outside of my home.
